Through the list provided, the literery genres can be arranged according to the following sequence :
1) Poetry
2) Prose
3) Drama
I choose prose as my most preferred literary genre because it’s simple but expressive and the language is quite direct and straightforward , it expresses the feelings in a way which is easy to read and understand .In literature, the main purpose of written prose is to express an idea, give information, or tell a story and each writer have his own way of using language which is called a writer’s voice . Using this literary device in different ways helps writers craft and show off this voice. As for the drama it is my second favorite genre of literature for the reason that it helps us to see a different perspective from our own as we’re shown humanity, psychology , motivations , conflict and resolution.While reading a story is powerful, watching the story be performed by actors adds a level of realism to the work. Finaly ,poetry is my last pick ,even though it is a powerful tool for people to express themselves and find comfort in the healing of their emotions, it takes more work to make the poem rhyme ,they need to measure the length of the lines and they have to consider the feeling behind each word and how it fits within the entire poem . Moreover not everyone who reads poetry understands it right away. Some people never really do figure out what the poet was trying to say. This can be frustrating for people who are trying to read something that they don’t understand and makes it difficult to appreciate the poem as a whole.
